Lost Your CBSE 10th Marksheet? How to Get a Duplicate Online

If you have lost your CBSE Class 10 marksheet, you can get a duplicate from CBSE online through its Duplicate Academic Documents System (DADS). Before you apply, check DigiLocker: for recent years, CBSE marksheets are available there as digital documents, and many schools and colleges accept them.

Step 1: check DigiLocker first

• Sign in to DigiLocker (the app or digilocker.gov.in) with the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
• Search for CBSE, choose Class X Marksheet, and enter your roll number and year of passing.
• If your marksheet is there, download it. A DigiLocker document is a valid digital copy, and for many admissions it is all you need.

Step 2: apply for a duplicate on DADS

If you need a printed copy, or your marksheet isn't on DigiLocker, apply for a duplicate:

• Go to the CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, and open the link for duplicate academic documents (DADS).
• Choose whether you want a digital or a printed duplicate.
• Enter your class (X), roll number, year of passing, and your name and father's name exactly as on your admit card.
• Fill in the address the document should be posted to, upload the documents the portal asks for, and pay the fee online.
• Save the acknowledgement. You can track the application on the same portal.

Fees and time

The fee depends on how long ago you passed. Reported fees are about ₹250 if you passed within the last five years, rising for older records (₹500 for five to ten years, and more beyond that), plus postage for a printed copy. Check the current fee on the portal before paying. Duplicates usually take two to four weeks.

Documents you may need

The portal shows the exact list for your case. Keep these ready: your roll number and year of passing, a photo ID, a passport-size photograph, and a copy of your admit card or any old copy of the marksheet if you have one. For lost originals, some applicants are asked for an affidavit or a police report, so read the portal's checklist before you start.

Avoid these mistakes

• Don't pay agents or unofficial websites. The CBSE portal is the only route, and it is not expensive.
• Use the same spelling of your name and your father's name as on the original marksheet, or the record search will fail.
• If you passed recently, try DigiLocker first. It is faster and free.
