Download CBSE Class 12 Physics board papers from 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, three sets for each year, with worked solutions, from the table below. There was no Class 12 board paper in 2021, because CBSE cancelled the exams that year.

Physics papers repeat ideas far more than they repeat questions. The same derivations, ray diagrams and circuit problems come back in new forms, so five years of papers show you exactly what you must be able to do without looking at your notes.

CBSE Class 12 Physics paper pattern (2026-27)

  • Theory: 70 marks, 3 hours. Practicals: 30 marks.
  • 33 questions in five sections: 16 one-mark MCQs (including assertion-reason), 5 two-mark questions, 7 three-mark questions, 2 four-mark case-based questions and 3 five-mark long answers.
  • No overall choice, but internal choices in some questions outside Section A.

Unit-wise marks

  • Electrostatics and Current Electricity: 16
  • Magnetic Effects of Current, Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current: 17
  • Electromagnetic Waves and Optics: 18
  • Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Atoms and Nuclei: 12
  • Electronic Devices: 7

Optics with Electromagnetic Waves is the heaviest block, and it is also where ray diagrams decide a lot of marks.

How to practise with these papers

  • Start with 2025 and 2024; they follow the current five-section pattern.
  • Use 2022 only for extra questions, since that exam was term-wise.
  • Write each paper in three hours. Leave time at the end to check units and signs.
  • Mark your numericals step by step: formula, substitution with units, answer. Each step usually carries part of the marks.
  • Keep a list of derivations you could not finish, and write each one out fully the next day.

Where students lose marks in Physics

  • Numericals with no formula written, so a small calculation slip costs the whole question.
  • Missing or wrong units, and answers left in the wrong power of ten.
  • Ray diagrams without arrows, or with the image drawn but not labelled.
  • Derivations that skip a step or start from a result instead of the basic law.
  • Circuit questions where the direction of current or the sign convention is never stated.

Gradehunt's CBSE Class 12 Physics test series checks every answer step by step, the way a board examiner would, so you can see exactly where marks are slipping.
