There is no single best CA Final faculty for all six papers, and you do not need one. It makes more sense to choose paper by paper, often a different teacher for FR than for DT. This guide links to a fact-based comparison for each paper, sets out what ICAI changed for May 2027, and lists the free help ICAI gives for every subject.
Choose your faculty one paper at a time, and check that each course follows the edition and the law ICAI has set for May 2027.
TL;DR
- We compare 37 courses across FR, AFM, Audit, DT and IDT, listed alphabetically on each subject page.
- DT moves to the Income-tax Act, 2025 from May 2027, so check every DT course for it.
- ICAI's September 2026 study material is marked for May 2027 in FR, Audit, DT and IDT. AFM is still on the November 2024 edition.
- ICAI runs free live virtual classes in every paper for May 2027.
Which faculty guide do you need for each CA Final paper?
Each page lists five to eight well-known faculty in alphabetical order, with only the facts their course listings state: language, hours, validity, price and the attempt covered. None of them is a ranking.
Paper 1: Financial Reporting
Seven FR courses run from about 192 to 350 hours, and one dubbed-English version runs 420. Chinmaya Hegde teaches in English. The September 2026 study material changes Ind AS 1, 7, 10, 12 and 21 and the ethics chapter. See the FR faculty comparison.
Paper 2: Advanced Financial Management
Seven AFM courses run from 180 to about 300 hours and start at ₹7,499. Aaditya Jain, Adish Jain and Sankalp Kanstiya sell separate English courses. ICAI's calculator rule (6 functions, 12 digits, no scientific models) shapes how the sums should be taught. See the AFM faculty comparison.
Paper 3: Advanced Auditing, Assurance and Professional Ethics
Eight Audit courses run from 120 to 165 hours. Aarti Lahoti teaches in English, and Pragnesh Kanabar has a separate English course. Ethics alone carries 17% to 24% of the paper in ICAI's weightage. See the Audit faculty comparison.
Paper 4: Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation
Seven DT courses run from about 80 to 250 hours. This is the paper where the course's law matters most: five of the seven listings say their May 2027 course follows the Income-tax Act, 2025, and for the other two the page tells you to ask. See the DT faculty comparison.
Paper 5: Indirect Tax Laws
Eight IDT courses run from about 117 to 280 hours. GST carries 80 marks and customs and FTP 20. Only one listing states an amendment cut-off date. See the IDT faculty comparison.
Paper 6: Integrated Business Solutions
On 23 October 2026 we found only three dedicated IBS courses, and none was listed for May 2027 yet, so we will add an IBS comparison once those courses are out. Until then, our guide to the IBS paper explains the case-study format.
Five subject pages are ready now, and each one checks its courses against what ICAI set for May 2027.
What changed for May 2027 that your faculty must cover?
- DT: ICAI's Board of Studies announced on 5 December 2025 that the Income-tax Act, 2025 applies to Final Paper 4 from May 2027. A course recorded on the 1961 Act will not match the paper.
- FR, Audit, DT and IDT: ICAI has published September 2026 editions of the study material marked for May 2027.
- IDT: changes from 1 May to 31 October 2026 will come as a Statutory Update for May 2027.
- All papers: ICAI's attempt-wise applicability lists for May 2027 were not out on 23 October 2026, so check them before final revision.
Ask every faculty which edition and which Act their May 2027 recording follows before you pay.
How should you choose faculty across six papers?
Start with the hours. Five paid courses averaging 200 hours add up to about 1,000 hours of lectures. At 6 hours a day, that takes about 167 days, from early November to mid-April, before any revision or full papers. That is why it often makes sense to buy courses for two or three papers and use ICAI's material and free classes for the rest.
- List the papers where you need a teacher and the ones you can manage with ICAI's study material.
- For each paid paper, shortlist two faculty on language, live or recorded, and course hours.
- Watch both demos on your hardest chapter in that paper, not the introduction.
- Confirm the edition and, for DT, the Income-tax Act the recording follows.
- Check that the course ends with enough weeks left for revision and timed papers.
Remember the self-paced online modules too. They must be cleared before the Final exam, and our SPOM guide covers the deadlines.
Pay for teaching only where you need it, and leave time for timed papers in every subject.
What free help does ICAI give for every CA Final paper?
- Study material for each paper on ICAI's study material pages, linked from each subject page.
- RTPs and MTPs on the BoS RTP page and the BoS mock test papers page.
- Past question papers and suggested answers, such as those for May 2026.
- Free live virtual classes for May and November 2027 in every paper, after registration, with recordings on ICAI CA Tube.
For a paper you understand well, ICAI's material and free classes can be enough.
Where do CA Final students lose marks in every paper?
What I see across checked CA Final copies:
- No working notes, so one wrong figure hides every right step.
- A treatment or conclusion with no provision, standard or section behind it.
- Notes from an old edition or old law, which matters most in DT for May 2027.
- Too long on Question 1. At 100 marks in 3 hours, 14 marks are worth about 25 minutes.
Whichever faculty you choose for each paper, write full papers and get them checked. In Gradehunt's CA Final test series you write by hand and upload, and an ex-examiner checks each paper within 48 hours with step-wise marks. The first paper is checked free.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1.Who is the best faculty for CA Final?
There is no single best faculty for all six papers. Choose a teacher for each paper on language, hours and live or recorded classes. A student strong in Audit but weak in FR might buy only an FR course and self-study Audit. Use the subject pages above to shortlist two faculty per paper.
Q2.Should I take one faculty for all CA Final subjects?
Usually not. Few teachers cover all six papers, and the strongest fit often differs by subject. A student who follows English best may pick Chinmaya Hegde for FR and a separate English course for AFM. Choose paper by paper and check each demo.
Q3.Which CA Final faculty teach in English?
It depends on the paper. Chinmaya Hegde teaches FR in English, Aarti Lahoti teaches Audit in English, and several faculty sell separate English courses in AFM, Audit, DT and IDT. Each subject page lists them, so check the demo before you buy.
Q4.Is ICAI study material enough for CA Final?
For some papers, yes. ICAI gives study material, RTPs, MTPs and free live classes in every paper. If one or two papers come easily to you, self-study them and pay for teaching in the rest. Either way, write full papers against the clock.
Q5.Do I need a new DT course for May 2027?
Yes, if your course was recorded on the Income-tax Act, 1961. ICAI applies the Income-tax Act, 2025 to Paper 4 from May 2027. A student who sits November 2026 and then May 2027 should not reuse old DT notes as they are.
Q6.When should I start CA Final classes for May 2027?
Now, if you have not started. Five paid courses of about 200 hours each take around 167 days at 6 hours a day. Starting in early November ends lectures by mid-April, so buy fewer courses and start the hardest paper first.
