There is no single best FR faculty for CA Final. For May 2027, the right one depends on the language you follow best, whether you need live classes or can work from recordings, how many months you have left and which parts of Ind AS you are weakest in. The seven below are listed alphabetically, not ranked.
Shortlist on facts that fit your calendar, then pick the teacher whose demo on your hardest chapter you can explain back.

Who are the well-known FR faculty for CA Final (May 2027)?
I took the names listed first in the CA Final FR section of a large course platform and checked them against names students ask about on CAclubindia and TaxGuru. What must a good FR faculty cover for May 2027?
ICAI has put up a September 2026 edition of the FR study material, marked "Applicable for May 2027 Exam Onwards". A page at the start of each module lists what changed from the November 2024 edition. Your faculty's notes should have these:
- Ind AS 1 and Ind AS 7: current liabilities and supplier finance arrangements, under the Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Second Amendment Rules, 2025, notified on 13 August 2025.
- Ind AS 10: ICAI removed the paragraph on long-term loan arrangements.
- Ind AS 12: Pillar Two income taxes. Ind AS 21: lack of exchangeability.
- The ethics chapter, revised for the Code of Ethics (Revised 2026).
ICAI's attempt-wise study material list for May 2027 was not out on 23 October 2026 (the November 2026 one came on 10 June 2026), so check it before final revision.
How does ICAI weight the sections?
The study material gives these ranges: framework, presentation and measurement 10-15%; Ind AS 115 5-10%; assets and liabilities 15-25%; Ind AS 12, 21, disclosures and other Ind AS 15-20%; financial instruments 10-15%; group accounting 10-20%; Ind AS 101 and analysis 5-10%; ethics and technology 5-10%.
Group accounting alone carries 10-20% in that table, and consolidation questions are long, so a course that rushes Ind AS 103 and Ind AS 110 leaves you short.
What does the FR paper look like?
FR is Paper 1 of Group I, 100 marks in 3 hours. In May 2026, Part I had 15 case-scenario MCQs of 2 marks each. In Part II, Question 1 was compulsory and you answered four of the other five. See our CA Final groups and subjects guide and the ICAI paper pattern under the new scheme.
For May 2027, pick a course built on the September 2026 edition that gives group accounting real time.
How do you judge an FR demo lecture?
- Pick a demo on a chapter you find hard, such as financial instruments, rather than the introduction.
- Check that each treatment comes with its Ind AS and the reason for it.
- See whether solutions carry working notes in ICAI's format.
- Look for the September 2026 changes in the notes or an add-on video.
- Watch 30 minutes at your real speed, then explain the topic back without notes.
A demo on your weakest chapter tells you more than any list, this one included.
What free FR resources does ICAI give?
- Study material: the September 2026 edition on ICAI's FR study material page.
- RTP and MTP: the BoS RTP page (the May 2027 RTP was not up on 23 October 2026) and the BoS mock test papers page.
- Past papers: ICAI's Final question papers page and suggested answers such as May 2026. Our CA Final suggested answers post explains how to use them.
- Free live virtual classes for May and November 2027: FR began on 21 July 2026, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 7 am to 10 am, after registration. ICAI's announcement says recordings stay available, including on ICAI CA Tube.
You can prepare FR from ICAI's free material and classes, and pay only for the help you lack.
Where do students lose marks in FR?
Patterns I see in checked FR copies, without numbers:
- No working notes. The May 2026 paper said working notes should form part of the answer. Without them, a wrong total hides your right steps.
- A treatment with no reason. "Recognise revenue over time" needs the Ind AS 115 condition that fits those facts.
- Too long on Question 1. At 100 marks in 3 hours, 14 marks are worth about 25 minutes.
- Old notes. Answers on Ind AS 1 or 21 from older notes will not match the September 2026 edition.
Timed full papers expose all four before the exam does.
Whichever faculty you choose, write full FR papers and get them checked. In Gradehunt's CA Final test series you write by hand and upload, and an ex-examiner checks each paper within 48 hours with step-wise marks. The first paper is checked free.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1.Who is the best FR faculty for CA Final?
There is no single best one. It depends on your language, the months you have and whether you need live classes. A student starting in November may want a course near 200 hours, while one weak in financial instruments should watch each shortlisted faculty's demo on that chapter. Shortlist two, watch the same topic from both, and decide.
Q2.Should I take live or recorded FR classes for May 2027?
Recorded classes suit most May 2027 students because you set the pace. Live classes help if you need a fixed timetable. Of the seven here, Aakash Kandoi lists live classes from 2 November 2026, but they are offered for November 2027 onwards. ICAI's free live virtual classes for May 2027 run on three mornings a week.
Q3.Is ICAI study material enough for CA Final FR?
For many students, yes, if they work through all of it. The September 2026 edition has practice questions in each module, and ICAI adds an RTP, mock test papers and free live classes. Financial instruments and consolidation are where a teacher's worked examples save the most time. Either way, write full papers against the clock.
Q4.Which CA Final FR faculty teach in English?
Chinmaya Hegde's course is in English. Aakash Kandoi and Sarthak Jain have separate English courses, and Parveen Jindal has a dubbed-English version. The rest on this page teach in Hindi-English mix. Jai Chawla has a course titled "in English", but its listing says Hindi-English mix, so check the demo before buying.
Q5.When should I start FR for May 2027?
Now, if you have not started. From late October, May 2027 is about six months away, and the courses here run 192 to 350 hours before any revision. At 3 hours a day, a 270-hour course takes 90 days, so starting in early November still leaves February to April for revision and full papers.
Q6.Is the November 2024 edition of FR study material enough for May 2027?
Not on its own. ICAI marks the September 2026 edition for May 2027 onwards, with changes to Ind AS 1, 7, 10, 12 and 21 and a revised ethics chapter. If you own the older books, use the page of significant changes at the start of each new module to mark the differences, as ICAI suggests.
