Best Faculty for CA Inter FM and SM (January and May 2027)

There is no single best faculty for CA Inter FM and SM. Pick on four things: the language you follow best, live or recorded classes, the weeks left before your attempt, and which half of Paper 6 is weaker for you. FM and SM are often sold as separate courses, so the faculty below sit in two groups, each alphabetical, not ranked.

FM needs hours of solved sums on a plain calculator; SM needs practice writing answers around a case. Judge each teacher on that.

Who are the well-known FM and SM faculty for CA Inter (January and May 2027)?

How I picked them: the first four faculty for each part in the CA Inter FM and SM section of a large course platform, in its default order, on 23 October 2026. I counted full courses only, and a combined FM-SM course counts for both parts. Facts come from each faculty's course listing on that platform. Prices are the lowest shown and change often.

FM faculty for CA Inter

CA Aaditya Jain. Credentials stated: CA, MBA (Finance), M.Com, NCFM. 150 hours (50 lectures) on Google Drive or app with printed books, 12 months' validity, a 1.5x view limit, ₹9,500. This listing showed only the September 2026 attempt; for January 2027 the platform sells his FM-SM course.

CA Namit Arora. Credentials stated: ICAI member who cleared every ICAI exam in the first attempt, teaching since 2011. 140 hours (57 lectures), recorded March to May 2026, on Google Drive with printed books. Validity 6 to 18 months, 2x view limit, from ₹8,199. For January or May 2027.

CA Nitin Guru. Credentials stated: more than 14 years of teaching. 145+ hours recorded from 10 July 2026, on Google Drive with printed books, valid till the exam with a 2x view limit. ₹7,099 for January 2027 or ₹7,299 for May 2027.

CA Swapnil Patni. 145 hours (59 lectures), unlimited validity, ₹5,499. January 2027 gets the March 2026 recording on Drive. For May 2027 a new course runs from November 2026, live or on Drive. The view limit is 1.5x on Drive, 2.5x live.

SM faculty for CA Inter

CA Mohnish Vora. Credentials stated: CA, B.Com, CFA Level 1 cleared. 70 hours (45 lectures), recorded June 2026, on Google Drive with printed books. 12 months' validity, 3x view limit, ₹4,499 for January or May 2027.

CA Namit Arora. 50 hours (25 lectures) on Google Drive with one colour book. Validity 6 to 18 months, 2x view limit, from ₹4,899. For January or May 2027.

Prof. Neeraj Arora. 40 to 50 hours, recorded August 2025, on an app or Google Drive with printed notes and MCQ banks. Valid till the exam with unlimited views. From ₹3,224 for January 2027 or ₹3,599 for May 2027.

CA Swapnil Patni. 100 hours (about 63 lectures) on Google Drive with four printed books, unlimited validity, 1.5x view limit, ₹4,499. January 2027 gets the July 2026 recording; May 2027 buyers can also take the course starting 16 November 2026.

Combined FM-SM courses

Swapnil Patni's combined course is 262 hours at ₹9,499, and Namit Arora's is 202 hours from ₹10,499. Mohnish Vora sells 170 hours of FM plus 70 of SM from ₹7,999, with a live option from November 2026. Aaditya Jain's FM-SM course costs ₹11,500, with SM taught by others in his team.

What must a good FM and SM faculty cover for 2027?

How is Paper 6 set?

Paper 6 is 100 marks in one 3-hour sitting. ICAI's guidance note splits it into Section A, Financial Management, and Section B, Strategic Management, each written in its own answer book, but it counts as one paper for passing. Every Intermediate paper has 30 marks of MCQs (no negative marking) and 70 descriptive.

In ICAI's suggested answers for September 2026, each section has 15 marks of MCQs and 35 descriptive marks: a compulsory 15-mark question, then any two of three 10-mark questions.

Where do the marks sit?

ICAI's section-wise weightage for FM:

• Section I, 10% to 15%: scope of financial management and ratio analysis.
• Section II, 45% to 50%: sources of finance, cost of capital, capital structure decisions and leverages.
• Section III, 20% to 25%: capital investment and dividend decisions.
• Section IV, 15% to 20%: working capital management.

FM chapters and the calculator

The FM study material has nine chapters in two modules, and all but the first two are mainly practical sums. ICAI allows only a non-scientific calculator (up to 6 functions, 12 digits, two memories), and each module ends with present value and annuity tables. A good course solves NPV and IRR sums in class with exactly these.

SM answers built on cases

In September 2026, the SM MCQs included a case on a small shop, and the compulsory descriptive question opened with a company case. A good SM teacher shows how to tie each concept to facts in the case and end with a short conclusion.

Which study material applies?

For January 2027, ICAI's study material notice names the July 2024 edition (reprint August 2025 onwards) plus the January 2027 RTP for both Paper 6A and 6B. For May 2027, the SM page has a new edition with the same five chapters.

How do you judge an FM or SM demo lecture?

1. Check that FM sums are solved on a plain calculator, with table values written down.
2. Check that FM theory gets class time, since MCQs and short notes need it.
3. In SM, look for a sample answer written to a case, not a definition alone.
4. Work out whether, at your pace, the course ends before your revision month.

Where do students lose marks in FM and SM?

What I see most in checked Paper 6 copies:

• FM working notes left out, so a wrong final figure earns no step marks.
• FM theory parts skipped because the sums ran long.
• SM answers that define the concept but never use the facts of the case.
• Too much time on FM, so SM gets rushed at the end.
