The CA exam form for January 2027 opens on 3 November 2026 at 10 am and closes on 16 November 2026 at 11:59 pm without a late fee. Foundation and Intermediate students apply on eservices.icai.org, ICAI's Self Service Portal. After that you can still apply until 19 November with a late fee of Rs 600, and a correction window runs from 20 to 22 November.

Most form problems have nothing to do with the form. They come from an old course code, a rejected photo or a missing Class 12 document on your SSP profile, and all three can be fixed today.

TL;DR

  • Form window: 3 November (10 am) to 16 November 2026 (11:59 pm), no late fee.
  • Late fee window: 17 to 19 November 2026, Rs 600 extra in India.
  • Correction window: 20 to 22 November 2026.
  • Fees in India: Foundation Rs 1,500, Inter one group Rs 1,500, Inter both groups Rs 2,700.
  • Exams: Inter from 2 January and Foundation from 3 January 2027.

When does the CA January 2027 exam form open and close?

ICAI's Important Dates notice for January 2027 gives one window for both levels. I have copied the times as ICAI states them, in IST.

  • Form opens: Tuesday 3 November 2026, 10:00 am.
  • Last date without late fee: Monday 16 November 2026, 11:59 pm.
  • Last date with late fee: Thursday 19 November 2026, 11:59 pm.
  • Correction window: 20 November, 10:00 am, to 22 November 2026, 11:59 pm.

Do not plan to apply on 16 November. Portals tend to slow down near a deadline, and a payment that fails at 11:50 pm leaves you in the late-fee window.

Apply between 3 and 16 November to pay the normal fee; the absolute last day is 19 November.

How much is the CA exam fee for January 2027?

The fee depends on your level and your exam centre. These are the figures in ICAI's fee chart for January 2027:

  • Foundation, centre in India: Rs 1,500. With late fee, Rs 2,100.
  • Intermediate, one group, centre in India: Rs 1,500. With late fee, Rs 2,100.
  • Intermediate, both groups, centre in India: Rs 2,700. With late fee, Rs 3,300.
  • Kathmandu centre: Rs 2,200 for Foundation or one Inter group, Rs 3,400 for both groups, plus Rs 600 late fee.
  • Bahrain or Dubai centre: US $325 for Foundation or one Inter group, US $500 for both groups, plus US $10 late fee.

There is no separate form fee. You pay the whole amount online at the end of the form.

An Inter student writing both groups from an Indian centre pays Rs 2,700 on time, or Rs 3,300 after 16 November.

Who can apply for the January 2027 CA exams?

Foundation

You must have registered for the Foundation course on or before 1 September 2026. You also need either your Class 12 admit card (if you have appeared) or your Class 12 marksheet (if you have passed) uploaded on SSP. Students who registered on the old CPT route must be converted to Foundation before they fill the form.

Intermediate

You need eight months of study from registration to 1 January 2027. In practice that means you registered for Intermediate on or before 1 May 2026. You must also be registered for the group or groups you plan to write. A student registered only for Group I cannot pick both groups in the exam form.

Foundation needs registration by 1 September 2026; Intermediate needs registration by 1 May 2026.

What should you check on SSP before 3 November?

ICAI's notice on requirements lists the checks. I would do them this week, while the portal is quiet.

  1. Log in to SSP and confirm your username and password work. Use the forgot-password option now if they don't.
  2. Check your course code. Foundation must show NEWFND23 or CONFND23, and Intermediate must show NEWINT23 or CONINT23. If yours is different, apply for conversion under Student Functions, then Course Registration. Conversion is free.
  3. Check your photograph: a clear face on a white background, no selfie, saved as jpg or jpeg between 20 and 50 KB.
  4. Check your signature: black pen on plain white paper, cropped, between 10 and 20 KB.
  5. Foundation students: upload the Class 12 admit card or marksheet if it is not already there.

A wrong course code stops the January form from opening, and conversion can take a few days to show on the dashboard.

How do you fill the CA exam form step by step?

  1. Log in at eservices.icai.org on a laptop or desktop. ICAI asks students not to fill exam forms on a phone.
  2. Open the January 2027 exam form for your level from the student dashboard.
  3. Choose your exam city and centre from ICAI's city list, and check the city code shown.
  4. Inter students: choose the group, the medium (English or Hindi) and confirm any exemption shown.
  5. Review every field once more, then pay online.
  6. Save the PDF that the portal gives you after payment. It is your proof of application.

Open only one form session at a time. Two tabs or two browsers on the same computer can corrupt the application.

Fill the form on a computer, pay online, and keep the PDF; that PDF is the only proof you have until the admit card comes.

What if you miss the date or make a mistake?

If you miss 16 November, apply by 19 November with the Rs 600 late fee. After 19 November there is no window, and you will have to wait for the next attempt.

If you have already paid and then notice a wrong centre, medium or group, use the correction window from 20 to 22 November. For anything the form will not let you change, write to [email protected] or [email protected], as ICAI's notice says.

You can also check the paper dates before you apply: our posts on the CA Foundation January 2027 dates and the CA Inter January 2027 dates list them paper by paper.

How should you use the weeks after the form is filled?

Once the form is in, you have about seven weeks to the first paper. That is the time to write full papers, not just read. Gradehunt's CA test series covers Foundation and Inter for January 2027. You write on paper, upload it, and an ex-examiner returns it within 48 hours with step-wise marks and comments, so you know which answers lose marks while there is still time to fix them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1.When does the CA January 2027 exam form open?

Ans.

It opens on 3 November 2026 at 10 am on eservices.icai.org. If you are ready on day one, apply in the first week, when the portal is fastest and you still have time to fix a payment or upload problem.

Q2.What is the last date for the CA January 2027 exam form?

Ans.

16 November 2026 without a late fee, and 19 November 2026 with a late fee of Rs 600. For example, a Foundation student who applies on 18 November pays Rs 2,100 instead of Rs 1,500.

Q3.What is the CA Inter exam fee for January 2027?

Ans.

Rs 1,500 for one group and Rs 2,700 for both groups at an Indian centre. The late fee of Rs 600 is added on top if you apply between 17 and 19 November.

Q4.Can I change my exam centre after submitting the form?

Ans.

Yes, during the correction window from 20 to 22 November 2026. Log in to SSP in that window and edit the centre. After 22 November ICAI does not offer another window in its notice.

Q5.Who is eligible for CA Foundation January 2027?

Ans.

Students registered for Foundation on or before 1 September 2026 with their Class 12 admit card or marksheet on SSP. A student who registered on 5 September would have to wait for the next attempt.

Q6.Why is my CA exam form not opening?

Ans.

Often because your course code is old, your photo or signature is missing, or (for Inter) you are not registered for the group. Fix these on SSP; course conversion is free.
