What did each November 2026 paper test?
We counted every printed mark in each paper twice, independently, and compared it with ICAI's own May 2026 paper. Each paper prints 114 marks, because Part II has six questions of 14 marks and you answer five.
Financial Reporting
- Business combinations under Ind AS 103 carried 24 printed marks, and financial instruments under Ind AS 32 and 109 carried 15.
- Income taxes, investment property and agriculture had 8 marks each, after none in May. Nine standards tested in May had no marks at all.
Advanced Financial Management
- 29 of the 30 MCQ marks needed a calculation, against 24 in May, and all 23 MCQs sat inside case scenarios.
- Security valuation led with 22 printed marks. Forex and international finance together carried 30, up from 20.
Audit
- Ethics carried 29 of the 114 printed marks, or 25.4%, up from 22. One full 10-mark case was on a firm's branch offices under section 27 of the Chartered Accountants Act.
- Only 26 of the 84 printed Part II marks asked you to apply the facts and reach a conclusion, against 52 in May. Most of the rest was answered as lists from the study material.
What changed across all three papers?
The MCQ part. In May 2026, FR, AFM and Audit each had 15 MCQs of 2 marks. In November each had 23: 16 of 1 mark and 7 of 2, still 30 marks in all. More questions for the same marks means more reading per mark, so practise the MCQ part to a fixed time. At the paper's pace of 180 minutes for 100 marks, 30 marks is about 54 minutes.
Group I matters most for your result. In May 2026, 12.00% of Group I candidates passed, against 20.49% in Group II. Every Final result since 2016 is on our CA Final pass percentage page.
How were these PDFs made?
Students share photos and scans of the paper soon after each exam. We retyped each paper word for word from those copies and checked every page line by line against the scan. Handwritten notes on the scans are left out. Each PDF opens with a GradeHunt cover page and says it is not an official ICAI file.
A copy can carry a misread figure, so if a number looks wrong, check it against ICAI's official paper when ICAI posts it, and tell us at [email protected].
Where are ICAI's official papers and suggested answers?
ICAI posts official question papers on its Final question papers page, and suggested answers come out separately. Our CA Final suggested answers guide lists ICAI's papers, RTPs and MTPs by attempt.
