How Long Does the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Course Take?

Different stages of Chartered Accountancy (CA) qualification split it into different components across a different time frame, depending and on context on things as your location, prior qualifications extending through to your exam progress.

This is it—the final stage! The final stage is where it all comes together, and you will be doing some really advanced work. You will have to develop knowledge in all things from auditing to taxation.

In the final stage, you will work on:

● Advanced Financial Management

● Strategic Financial Management

● Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics

● Corporate and Economic Laws

● Direct and Indirect Taxes

You will also need to complete practical training (i.e., articleship or internship) for 3 years and this will give you hands-on knowledge so you can feel like a true professional.

The Total Duration of the CA Course: How Long Will It Take?

The amount of time it will take to become a Chartered Accountant is not a simple answer. But on average, it could take 3-4 years. But your time will depend on a few factors like your pace of passing your exams and if you currently have any qualifications.

Here is a rough estimate of how long each stage of the qualification process will generally take:
