CBSE has not released the 2027 date sheet yet. As of 9 October 2026, there is no Class 10 or Class 12 timetable on cbse.gov.in. This page tracks the release and will be updated on the day it comes out.

When will the CBSE 2027 date sheet come out?

CBSE has been publishing its date sheet a little earlier every year. For the 2026 exams it put out a tentative date sheet on 24 September 2025 and the final one on 30 October 2025, about 110 days before the first paper. A year earlier, the 2025 date sheet arrived on 20 November 2024. The one before that, for 2024, came on 12 December 2023.

If CBSE sticks to last year's timing, the 2027 date sheet should appear between late October and mid-November 2026. That is an estimate based on the pattern, not a date the board has announced.

Expected CBSE board exam dates 2027

  • Class 10, first board exam: mid-February to mid-March 2027. Compulsory for every student.
  • Class 10, second board exam: May 2027. Optional, for students who want to improve their marks in up to three subjects.
  • Class 12: mid-February to early April 2027. One board exam, as before.
  • Practical exams: November to December 2026 for winter-bound schools, and January to February 2027 for the rest.

These windows come from the last three years of CBSE schedules. Subject-wise dates will be added here as soon as CBSE publishes them.

CBSE date sheets in the last three years

  • 2024 exams: date sheet released on 12 December 2023. Class 10 ran from 15 February to 13 March, and Class 12 from 15 February to 2 April.
  • 2025 exams: date sheet released on 20 November 2024. Class 10 ran from 15 February to 18 March, and Class 12 from 15 February to 4 April.
  • 2026 exams: tentative date sheet on 24 September 2025, final on 30 October 2025. Class 10 ran from 17 February to 10 March, and Class 12 from 17 February to 9 April. Papers started at 10:30 am.

Two patterns hold every year. Class 10 finishes three to four weeks before Class 12, because Class 12 has far more subject combinations to fit in. And CBSE says it leaves a gap between subjects that students commonly take together, while also making sure Class 12 papers end before the major entrance exams begin.

Two board exams for Class 10: how it works

2026 was the first year of CBSE's two-exam system for Class 10. The first exam, in February and March, is compulsory. The second exam ran from 15 to 21 May 2026 and was optional. Students could take it in up to three subjects, such as Science, Maths, Social Science or a language, and CBSE kept whichever score was higher.

Plenty of students used it. Of about 6.6 lakh students who sat the second exam, around 5.1 lakh took it to improve their marks, and close to 60% of them did. The results came out on 18 July 2026.

Class 12 still has a single board exam, with a supplementary exam in July for students who need one.

Delhi students: which date sheet applies to you?

Delhi has no separate state board for Class 10 and 12. Government schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas and most private schools in Delhi follow CBSE, so the CBSE date sheet is the one you need. A few private schools follow CISCE instead; for them, the ICSE and ISC timetable comes from CISCE, usually in November. We track it on our ICSE exam date page.

How to plan before the date sheet comes out

You don't need the exact dates to start planning. The pattern is steady enough to work backwards from mid-February:

  • October and November: finish the syllabus, and keep a list of the chapters you are least sure of.
  • December: start full papers, one subject at a time, written by hand in three hours.
  • January: practicals for most schools, and pre-boards. Go through your checked pre-board papers and note where marks went: missing steps, unlabelled diagrams, or a last section you never reached.
  • February: revise from your own mistakes, not from new material.

When the date sheet arrives, look at the gap before each major subject and plan around it. Three clear days before Maths or Science, used well, can lift a score more than an extra week of general revision in January.

If you want your practice papers checked the way a board examiner would check them, Gradehunt's CBSE Class 10 test series and CBSE Class 12 test series return every answer sheet with step-wise marks and comments.

Where to download the official date sheet

Only from CBSE's own websites, cbse.gov.in and cbseacademic.nic.in. Your school will receive it at the same time. Ignore any date sheet forwarded on WhatsApp before CBSE has announced it: fake ones go around every year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1.Is the CBSE date sheet 2027 out?

Ans.

Not yet. As of 9 October 2026, CBSE has not published the 2027 date sheet for Class 10 or Class 12. Last year's final date sheet came out on 30 October, so this year's may arrive in late October or November 2026.

Q2.When will CBSE Class 10 board exams start in 2027?

Ans.

CBSE hasn't announced it yet. The first Class 10 exam started on 15 February in 2024 and 2025, and on 17 February in 2026, so a mid-February 2027 start is likely.

Q3.Will there be two board exams for Class 10 in 2027?

Ans.

The two-exam system began in 2026: a compulsory exam in February and March, and an optional second exam in May for up to three subjects. It is expected to continue in 2027. The second-exam dates will be in CBSE's official notice.

Q4.Is there a separate Delhi board date sheet?

Ans.

No. Delhi has no state board for Class 10 and 12. Schools in Delhi follow CBSE, or CISCE in the case of some private schools, so use the CBSE date sheet.

Q5.What time do CBSE board exams start?

Ans.

In 2026, papers started at 10:30 am. Check your admit card for the reporting time and any changes for 2027.
