What actually happens?

You will spend hours staring at bank statements with 400 line items, hunting for a single missing invoice from a client who says “just check once more, it’s definitely there” even though it clearly is not.

What You’ll Really Learn (and Not Just from the Work)

You’ll learn more about real accounting and taxation in three months than you did in three years of classes because when your senior says “review this ledger and make a report by 6PM” – you do not argue, you just google faster.

Here’s where it gets real.

Audit

You learn to ask for documents clients never want to give, like it’s a daily treasure hunt where the only prize is a grumpy nod from your manager and maybe a sandwich if they’re feeling generous.

You get good at reading between the lines – both in numbers and in client excuses – and somehow, over time, it becomes second nature to spot errors, gaps, and suspicious journal entries that smell like “future scrutiny.”

Taxation

You’ll know the GST portal so well, it starts to feel like your second home, and you'll develop the psychic ability to predict when it’ll crash (usually right before a deadline).

And income tax returns?
 You’ll be able to file them with your eyes half-closed.
 Not because you're that good.
 But because you'll have done it 47 times this month.

Office Life: A Whole Education on Its Own
